Think about that advice learn SEO to be an online success. Sure does sound simple enough so why don’t more people learn SEO. Here is a common thought now a days. I am going to go online put up a website and make some money. Or how about this one, I will write a blog and get lots of “online friends” to become the king of the social networks and that will make me lots of money! Have you ever thought this one, I will become an affiliate to this “great product” and get lots of people online to discover my link and I will make a mint in affiliate commissions! Sounds like great advice since everyone is going online for something there must be a way to take advantage of that to become a success, right?

I guess the first thing you would have to decide is whether you believe that last sentence of that last paragraph? There must be a way to build your own success on the internet. With billions of people going on the internet everyday you just have to believe that the opportunities for success are also plentiful as well. I suppose that is the magic question for anyone looking to have some success on the internet is how can I tap into all that potential?

If you have done any searching on the subject of being a success on the internet hopefully you have clicked on any information regarding search engine optimization or SEO. SEO to me is just an online way of saying online advertising and online marketing. Why do I say that because the most obvious key to online success is getting a high ranking in the search engines or to be more specific in Google. Like it or not Google has become the portal of choice to billions of people and all you have to do is rank high in the niche of your choice. Sounds easy enough and if you have done any research on the subject at all you will know that there are a million different opinions and ideas on how to achieve this.

Sometimes it feels like I have tried about a million different way myself. The best advice for achieving online success is to learn about SEO. Believe me when I tell you that yes there are people preaching short cuts to success and software programs that will get you to the top in no time flat. What those programs and short cuts will do is leave your wallet flat and your passion for online success will be left flat as well. I will be the first to admit that I tried quite a few of those shortcuts and all I managed to do was waste my time and my money.

After more than three years of tooling around on the internet looking for that magic bullet to success I have finally come to one conclusion. That is if I had spent the last three years to learn about SEO instead of all the junk short cuts and schemes. I would have been an online success long ago. It’s only been in the last six months that I have finally bitten the bullet and taken the time to learn about SEO and the value of original content and the powers of some well placed text links.

I am by no means in a position to quit my day job but with what little success I have had in the last six months. I finally know for sure that I am really on the right road to long term success. I will tell you that with the amount of free information on SEO that is available on the internet there is no reason for anyone out there to not be a success. My advice to you is that it’s not rocket science it really is as simple as learning those three little letters, SEO!
