So what is it that causes you the most stress on a daily basis? Why do you think this particular action or situation can cause you to stress out so much? I will explain here as it was explained to me a long time ago. The reason why certain things used to stress me out was very simple. I would some how internally see what ever situation was happening to me or around me and I just would not be willing to accept it on an internal level. Some ridiculous emotional or mental rule that was in my hear would not accept the situation as it happened and that would cause the physical reaction that we all know to be stress.
So what does that mean, it means that the reason why you get stressed is because a part of you is shall we say stubborn! Is that a good word to describe it?
I would say yes because if you step back and look at things that happen around you and you notice that certain people will stress over some things but not others and vice verse for other people. Why? Because we all have these triggers in our past that get set off when certain things happen that set off an automatic response whether it is logical or not. Have you ever met someone that would just never seem to get stressed out, they always seem to be layed back and easy going. Typically these people are pretty good at living in the moment accepting things as they happen and then dealing with them.
There lies the key to less stress in that last sentance. Accepting things as they happen. Why is that great advice, because it makes obvious sense. So obvious that most people miss it. The moment and I mean the very moment that something happens then that’s it. That moment has come and gone and it’s now in the past. The only thing you can do now is react and figure out what will be done next. You see when you think about the stresses in your life you will learn that most of them are in the past and there just is no changing the past. No matter how much we would like to. It’s already happened let it go and move on to what you are going to do about it.
